The Personal Choices Program provides home care assistance for individuals who meet eligibility criteria with the Alabama Department of Senior Services. The Pilot Program is funded by the State of Alabama for up to 200 individuals.
PCAs
provide assistance with activities of daily living
for individuals with severe disabilities who would
not be able to live at home without the assistance
of the program. Personal assistance includes
hands-on activities and tasks such as bathing,
dressing, eating, transfers and other personal care.
The consumers are able to make their own choices
about the people they will hire to provide the
assistance they need.
Allied
Community Services is the contracted Financial
Management Services Agency for the Personal
Choices Program
Allied assists the Personal Choices Program participants and program counselors with filing all of the necessary IRS, federal and state applications and paperwork to become established as a household employer. We work closely with the Participants to ensure they understand their approved program funding so they are easily able to manage the funds available to them. We assist program participants in the completion of employee paperwork and understanding their role as the employer of household service providers.
Once services start, Allied receives and processes the participants’ employees’ timesheets and payroll, makes invoice payments for program expenses and provides budget reports and management services.
